Rarely do we have the opportunity to work on a site that has been occupied by the same family for three generations. Our client's dedication to this family home and its restoration has been a privilege. The site is located on flood-prone land, the 1.4m flood level required new living spaces to be raised to ensure habitability in extreme circumstances. The small lot size required compact planning. We designed a split-level plan that provides the right balance between separation and connection to clearly distinguish between old and new while meeting flood requirements. A north-facing terrace garden creates a welcoming transition that connects the interiors with a new native garden.
