Installation

2015

This design was the response to an invitation from The Lockup art space to jointly exhibit with artist Ruth Feeny on the theme Inside Outside, whereby Ruth’s Work “Hanging Garden” was located to the outside space and our work the inside. The Installation was conceived as an immersive piece that would alter the visitor’s perception of the space it inhabited from that of a room to one of an experience. We identified the high level windows of the room as an opportunity to play with natural light and create an organically changing environment of dappled light such as you would experience under a tree canopy or below the water line. The work was fabricated using readymade materials (timber cones for packaging hot chips) suspended for a framework via a fishing line and sinker arrangement.
