booral bath house
Under Construction
2018 - 2024
Situated on a rural pastural land interspersed native bushland, the strategy for this project centred upon the need to safeguard the house from the threat of bushfire. We identified the necessity of maintaining the singular roof form, which encouraged a restrained approach to the modifications to the existing structure. Alterations to the existing layout were implemented selectively, resulting in both increased liveability and the preservation of fire precautions. The addition of an outdoor bathing courtyard utilises stone from the site and takes advantage of the serene and bushy backdrop, providing an opportunity for repose and appreciation of the natural landscape.
